Workers at Rodgau's cleaning service successfully gather funds for a children's hospice, donating an impressive €2,350.
Rodgau City Cleaning Staff's Tilly Donation Campaign Enhances Hospice Care for Children
The Tilly donation campaign, launched in January 2023, has become a significant part of the municipal community in Rodgau. This year-long initiative, led by the city's cleaning staff, has been a shining example of lived solidarity among the employees of the city.
Through various actions, including the sale of cakes at the Jugesheim Advent market, the dedicated team managed to collect a total of 2,350 euros. Employees in municipal facilities and kindergartens also contributed generously to this heartwarming campaign.
The Maltese children and youth hospice care, which supports families with seriously ill or dying children and adolescents, will benefit greatly from these donations. The funds raised will help the hospice provide much-needed offers to heavily burdened families, offering them a piece of normality during difficult times.
The donations will help enhance medical and emotional support tailored to children and youth, including pain management, counselling, and recreational therapies. They will also allow for upgrading hospice environments, making them safer, more comfortable, and more child-friendly.
First Mayor Janika Martin praised the efforts of the cleaning staff in the Tilly action, and the city of Rodgau thanked all those involved for their commitment to the campaign. Daniela Göbel, coordinator of the children's hospice service, expressed gratitude for the generous support from the municipal cleaning staff.
Looking ahead, the campaign aims to continue fundraising to provide ongoing support, ensuring long-term sustainability of hospice services. Plans include introducing new therapeutic and educational programs to improve quality of life and developmental opportunities for the children. Increasing involvement of the local community and businesses in awareness and support activities is also a priority, building a stronger care network.
Enhancing professional development for hospice staff to maintain high standards of care and integrate latest best practices in pediatric palliative care is another key objective. The Rodgau city cleaning staff’s Tilly donation campaign plays a vital role in strengthening hospice care for children and youth in Malta, combining financial support, awareness-raising, and community involvement to ensure these vulnerable groups receive comprehensive and compassionate care now and into the future.
What a fantastic contribution by the Rodgau city cleaning staff! The Tilly donation campaign, focused on health-and-wellness and science, will greatly aid science-based medical and emotional support for children and youth at the Maltese children and youth hospice care.
