Vascular Experts to Unveil Innovative Treatments for PAOD and Carotid Emergencies in Leipzig

Leading vascular medicine experts are set to unveil innovative diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for vascular diseases at the Annual Meeting of the German Society for Angiology in Leipzig, from September 18 to 20, 2025. The focus is on treating peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD), also known as 'intermittent claudication', and acute emergencies of the carotid artery.

Dr. med. Jawed Arjumand will present a novel therapy concept for removing stubborn vascular deposits in PAOD. This condition is a result of atherosclerosis, which narrows and hardens the arteries, reducing blood flow to the legs. The conference will also highlight modern interventional and surgical procedures for treating these narrowing and acute emergencies.
