UnitedHealth Completes $3.3B Amedisys Acquisition
UnitedHealth Group has finalised its $3.3 billion acquisition of Amedisys, with the deal closing on Thursday morning. Following the takeover, Amedisys' shares were removed from the NASDAQ exchange.
The acquisition, initially announced over two years ago, sees Amedisys become part of UnitedHealth's Optum health services unit. Andrew Asher, a prominent figure in the takeover, led the action. UnitedHealth Group, a major player in the healthcare industry, has expanded its services with this purchase.
