In a recent development, Farmfoods has announced the recall of two of its products due to potential health risks.

Firstly, the supermarket chain has pulled its 350g Chicken and Spinach Pasta from shelves. This precautionary measure was taken due to a possible health risk, as the product may contain undeclared allergens such as milk, wheat, and crustaceans, fish, and molluscs. This could trigger severe or even life-threatening allergic reactions in some people. The recall affects only the Chicken and Spinach Pasta and does not include other products in the Farmfoods range.

Customers who have purchased the affected product are advised not to consume it if they have a seafood allergy or intolerance. Instead, they can return the product to the store where it was purchased for a full refund, no receipt required. Farmfoods has also issued a point-of-sale notice to customers and has contacted allergy support organizations about the recall.

The manufacturer of the Chicken and Spinach Pasta is Green Isle Foods. This is not the first product recall by Farmfoods; other products may have been recalled in the past.

In a separate incident, Farmfoods has also recalled its JS Classic Houmous and JS Lemon & Coriander Houmous. The recall was issued last week due to possible contamination with Shiga toxin-producing E.coli (STEC). Customers were warned not to eat the affected homous products and were offered a full refund.

When it comes to product recalls, it is important to always check the manufacturer's website to see if a safety notice has been issued. If you become aware that an item you own has been recalled or has any safety notice issued against it, make sure you follow the instructions given to you by the manufacturer. They should usually provide you with more information and a contact number on its safety notice.

Product recalls are an important means of protecting consumers from dangerous goods. When a product recall involves a branded product, the manufacturer usually has lead responsibility for the recall action. However, it is often left up to supermarkets to notify customers when products could put them at risk.

In the case of appliances, the onus is usually on you - the customer - to register the appliance with the manufacturer.

Farmfoods has apologized for the situation and any inconvenience it may have caused. The company encourages customers to check their purchased products regularly for any safety notices and to follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
