Tulsa County Fights STIs with 'Treat Me Right' Town Halls for Women
Tulsa County Health Department is hosting a series of town halls, 'Treat Me Right: Stop the Rise of STIs', aimed at women aged 18 to 42. The events, funded by a syphilis reduction grant, aim to raise sexual health awareness and combat the high prevalence of STIs in the US, with one in five Americans currently affected, according to the CDC.
The town halls, scheduled for January 31, February 15 (in Spanish), and February 29, are free to attend and registration is encouraged but not required. Light refreshments will be provided. Findings from these sessions will help prevent STIs, including syphilis and congenital syphilis, aligning with the goals of the Tulsa Fetal and Infant Mortality Review project.
Free, fast, and confidential STI testing is available online at https://gettested.cdc.gov/.
Join the Tulsa County Health Department in their mission to reduce STIs in Tulsa County. Attend the town halls, learn about sexual health, and help prevent the spread of STIs. Together, we can make a difference.
