Three individuals driving under the influence of alcohol

In a series of incidents between Monday afternoon and the early hours of Tuesday, the Rhein-Erft-Kreis Police took action against three drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or committing other criminal offenses.

The first incident occurred in Bergheim, where a 35-year-old driver was stopped around 1:00 AM for driving erratically and into oncoming traffic. A breathalyzer test revealed a reading of approximately 2.70g/l, indicating alcohol impairment. It was also noted that the driver did not possess a valid driver's license.

Shortly after, around 1:40 AM, a 55-year-old driver of a Porsche was stopped in Kerpen-Sindorf for driving erratically and on the wrong side of the road. The driver showed signs of intoxication, including impaired balance, delayed pupil reaction, slurred speech, and a strong alcohol odor. Despite the officers' attempts, the driver was unable to perform a breathalyzer test. A blood test was ordered for the driver at a police station.

On Monday afternoon, a 71-year-old driver of a Nissan was stopped in Hürth-Efferen for suspected driving under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyzer test showed a reading of nearly 1.00g/l. A blood test was ordered for the driver, and their driver's license was confiscated. Unfortunately, no further details about the third driver stopped in Kerpen were provided.

The traffic division has initiated investigations into the incident in Kerpen-Sindorf. The press inquiries for the Rhein-Erft Circle Police can be directed to [email protected].
