Struggling Teenager Seeks Three Mysterious Individuals Who Prevented Her Suicide Attempt on a Bridge
Here's a fresh take on the article:
A 15-year-old girl is on a quest to find three remarkable individuals who she believes saved her life.
Meet Erin Oliver, a schoolgirl hailing from New Hartley, Northumberland. Over a year ago, she fell into the deep abyss of severe depression and attempted suicide three times. Her latest attempt was last Monday, when she stood on the edge of a bridge in Tyne and Wear, ready to jump.
But fate had other plans. A man exited his car, and two women, one of whom Erin remembers as Sonia, stopped to comfort her. Sonia, who is roughly the age of Erin's mother, offered words of hope and shared that she worked at Newcastle University. Another woman named Amanda, a police officer, also joined in the attempt to help Erin.
Erin descended from the bridge and was taken to North Tyneside General Hospital. Medical professionals there initially thought she had obsessive compulsive disorder. But they corrected the diagnosis early the next year, identifying her condition as autism. Erin continues to struggle with distressing voices that urge her to harm herself, but she's grateful for her loving parents, her younger sister, and her family pet Tilly, a black Labrador, who help her cope.
Erin is now determined to raise awareness about mental health and advocate for those who are struggling. She shares her story in the hopes it will help others facing similar challenges.
