In an unusual incident that took place in the heart of Stuttgart, a 28-year-old Gambian suspect was arrested on Monday after a series of alleged attacks and thefts.

The incident unfolded on Königstraße, where the suspect, along with an unknown accomplice, is believed to have stolen a pair of sneakers from a local store. The accomplice reportedly removed security tags from the stolen sneakers in the store's basement.

However, the suspect's actions did not end there. Upon being confronted by a 54-year-old detective and a 27-year-old employee, the suspect resisted arrest and engaged in a physical struggle. During this ensuing altercation, the suspect is said to have bitten both the detective and the employee, causing injuries.

A 37-year-old police officer was also lightly injured during the arrest of the suspect, which took place on the scene of the initial incident. The suspect tried to flee but was apprehended by the arriving police officers.

In addition to the stolen sneakers, the suspect is also suspected of removing security tags from another pair of sneakers and attempting to leave the store. The details about the injuries sustained by the police officer and the employees were not disclosed.

The Stuttgart Public Prosecutor's Office has requested the presentation of the suspect to the judge, which is scheduled for Tuesday. Investigations into the unknown accomplice are still ongoing.
