Sef publicly asks for additional Adderall to sustain him during his court testimonies.

In a recent court filing, defense attorney Mark Cohen has requested a higher and longer-lasting dose of Adderall for Sam Bankman-Fried, the embattled CEO of collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX. The request comes as Bankman-Fried prepares for his trial, with concerns that his lack of access to Adderall may affect his ability to concentrate at his usual level.

Bankman-Fried currently receives a 10mg tablet of Adderall between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. every morning. However, the effects of the current dosage wear off around 9:30 a.m., right when the trial begins. This timing aligns with how long Adderall's effects usually last in an adult man.

The defense team is focusing on several aspects, including the damaging testimony delivered last week by former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison. To ensure Bankman-Fried is able to present his case effectively, they have requested a 12-hour extended release 20mg dosage of Adderall.

In August, a therapist wrote a letter to the judge asking for Bankman-Fried to continue receiving his normal medication. The defense team has also made similar requests, citing the importance of Bankman-Fried's mental health and ability to focus during the trial.

It is worth noting that Bankman-Fried's use of stimulants has been a topic of discussion during the FTX meltdown, his detention, and his trial. Bankman-Fried has previously denied employee allegations of a drug and party culture at FTX.

As of early August 2025, there are no recent reports or developments regarding a request for Adderall dosage for Sam Bankman-Fried in his ongoing trial. If the requested dose is not provided or fails to have the desired effect, the trial may be adjourned on October 17.
