Practice of Medicine
The Practice of Medicine is a course spanning two years, taught in the third and fourth years of B.H.M.S., with the examination taking place at the conclusion of the fourth year.
Third Year Topics:- Respiratory diseases- Digestive system and peritoneum diseases- Liver, gallbladder, and pancreas diseases- Genetic factors and chronic Miasms- Immunological factors and susceptibility (including HIV, Hepatitis)- Disorders from chemical, physical agents, climatic, and environmental factors- Water and electrolyte balance disorders
Fourth Year Topics:- Nutritional and metabolic diseases- Haemopoietic system diseases- Endocrinal diseases- Infectious diseases- Cardiovascular system diseases- Urogenital Tract diseases- Central Nervous System and Peripheral Nervous System diseases- Psychiatric disorders- Disorders of the locomotor system (connective tissue, bones, and joints)- Skin and sexually transmitted diseases- Tropical diseases- Paediatric disorders- Geriatric disorders
In addition to the above-mentioned topics, students will also study applied anatomy, applied physiology, and the clinical examination of these subjects.
The examination for the fourth-year B.H.M.S. Practice of Medicine consists of two papers, each containing 100 marks, totalling 200 marks. These papers are divided as follows:- Paper 1 (Section A and B): Topics of 3B.H.M.S. - 50 marks; Homoeopathic Therapeutics related to topics of 3B.H.M.S. - 50 marks- Paper 2 (Section A and B): Topics of 4B.H.M.S. - 50 marks; Homoeopathic Therapeutics related to topics of 4B.H.M.S. - 50 marks

- In the Practice of Medicine Paper-2, students will study topics related to cardiovascular system diseases, a part of the fourth year curriculum in B.H.M.S.
- The syllabus for the fourth year also includes neurological disorders, such as the difference between Chronic myeloid and Chronic lymphatic leukaemia.
