Report unveiled on the application of micro-invasive breast surgery technique

The Evangelical Hospital Wesel, located at Schermbecker Landstraße 88, 46485 Wesel, has made a significant stride in the field of breast surgery by becoming the first certified breast center in Germany to offer the microinvasive laparoscopic nipple-sparing mastectomy (E-NSM). This groundbreaking procedure, which combines medical safety with aesthetically excellent results, is set to redefine breast surgery in the region.

This minimally invasive technique allows for the breast gland to be precisely removed using a high-resolution endoscopic camera, while the nipple, areola, and skin are fully preserved. This results in barely visible scars, less pain, and a faster recovery compared to conventional methods.

Advantages of E-NSM also include minimally invasive access, small scars outside the breast in the anterior axillary line, high safety, fewer complications, and gentle preservation of the nipple-areola complex. Studies show a lower risk of infections or wound healing disorders with E-NSM compared to conventional methods, and the risk of necrosis is reduced, allowing the nipple and areola to be preserved with high certainty.

For more information about the Evangelical Hospital Wesel and the E-NSM procedure, you can contact Max Holtschlag, the Deputy Head of Corporate Communications, via telephone at 0281 106 2922, fax at 0281 106 2999, or email at [email protected]. The hospital's website can be found at gesundheitscampuswesel.de.

It is worth noting that E-NSM is considered the method of choice for prophylactic breast removal in mutation carriers, such as those with BRCA1/2. Dr. med. Daniela Rezek, who leads the Clinic for Senology and Aesthetic Surgery, as well as the Breast and Breast Cancer Center Wesel, is at the forefront of this innovative procedure.

The Evangelical Hospital Wesel's introduction of E-NSM marks a significant step forward in the field of breast surgery, offering patients a more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional methods.
