The Freiburg Police Headquarters has taken a proactive approach to combat motorcycle accidents and noise in southern Baden, announcing increased motorcycle checks by police over the weekend in 2025.

According to reports, motorcycle controls were conducted on the federal highway B317 on August 29, 2025, between Todtnau and Zell im Wiesental, and again on August 31, 2025, in the Todtnau area. A total of 35 motorcycles were checked during these controls.

Sadly, two motorcycle riders were reported for passing in a no-passing zone, and a total of 18 drivers were cited for speeding. Among the speeding drivers, 14 were car drivers. Additionally, 15 cars were also checked during the controls.

The Freiburg Police Headquarters conducted these controls in the Lörrach district last weekend. The headquarters has a motorcycle concept in place to address this issue, and they are responsible for its implementation.
