Proactive Assistance for Families, Children, and Individuals at the Onset
The federal government, states, and municipalities have joined forces to strengthen the Early Help brand, a network that aims to support and strengthen families from pregnancy through the early years of a child's life.
Since 2007, the National Center for Early Intervention (NZFH) has been at the forefront of this initiative, supporting professional practice in recognizing family stress and resources early. The NZFH, a cooperative effort between the Federal Institute of Public Health (BIÖG) and the German Youth Institute e.V. (DJI), provides quality-assured, demand-oriented offers and promotes the networking of different professional groups.
Dr. Johannes Nießen, Acting Director of the Federal Institute of Public Health, emphasizes the importance of the Early Help brand, stating that the Early Help stamp and strong messages make it clear what Early Help stands for: a wide network that supports and strengthens families early on.
The Early Help stamp and messages are designed to make the offer more visible to expectant parents and encourage them to use the support opportunities available locally. Local providers receive the Early Help stamp template through the network coordination of their municipality.
The Early Help brand communication features a uniform stamp and central messages for better recognition by families. These messages aim to connect the diversity of the networks across regions. Design elements (key visuals) with different messages are available for free download on the website of the NZFH: www.earlyhelp.de/brand-early-help.
A separate website, www.parenting.info, is also associated with the Early Help initiative. This platform offers a wealth of resources for families, providing advice, support, and relief to those who wish for assistance, particularly those who feel insecure in handling their child.
Federal Minister for Education, Family, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth, Karin Prien, emphasizes the importance of Early Help in the first years of a child's life, stating it lays the foundation for early educational impulses. According to Prien, Early Help accompanies and supports parents in their first steps as parents and supports them in their daily lives.
The Early Help brand aims to make a wide range of services, including counseling services, home visits, parenting classes, and open meeting places, better known. The services provided are available to families with children up to three years old. The Early Help brand includes free services that offer qualified support right on site.
