Operations scheduled for 300 children to undergo complicating surgical procedures
In the anniversary year for BI Group, CEO Aidyn Rakhimbaev shared a heartwarming story that encapsulates the impact of their initiative, the "BI Žuldai" project. The project, which has become a school of experience exchange and a step forward for all Kazakhstani medicine, aims to improve the lives of children with disabilities.
One such child is Arujan, a girl born with severe physical limitations who was unable to sleep horizontally or walk. Arujan's family, large and hardworking, with her father working as a school guard and her mother unable to work, faced years of pain and worry for their daughter.
Rakhimbaev highlighted that the cost of the surgeries is hundreds of millions of tenge, but considers the health of every child as priceless. Surgeons from cities including Vilnius (Lithuania), Warsaw (Poland), and Minsk (Belarus) have participated in the BI-Žuldai Foundation initiative to perform complex surgeries for children with disabilities.
In Arujan's case, a surgeon from abroad who used an American method to install rods inside her bones was invited. After 10 years, Arujan is now walking for the first time, playing outside, and dreams of becoming a doctor. Her legs became straight after the operation, allowing her to sleep on her back for the first time in many years.
Rakhimbaev stated that the project has been a contribution to medicine and the future of the country, and he hopes that each of their steps will be light, and their future will be bright. He also expressed hope that the surgeries will make the lives of 300 families easier, as they have already changed the lives of 300 children forever.
In total, 219 surgeries for children with limb deformities, 37 heart and vessel surgeries, and 44 surgeries for children with anorectal malformations are planned. The 200th surgery within the initiative was performed in Aqtau. The project has invited 28 surgeons from Japan, China, Turkey, Israel, Belarus, and Russia to Kazakhstan to contribute to this life-changing work.
Arujan expresses her wish to walk like her siblings and thanks the fund for their help. Araylym Zhexenbayeva, Arujan's mother, recalls the years of pain and worry for her daughter, but now, she sees her daughter's dreams becoming a reality. Rakhimbaev's vision for the future is one where every child grows healthy, plays, and laughs without worries, and it seems that the "BI Žuldai" project is well on its way to making that vision a reality.
