Mars Petcare Wins Menopause Friendly Accreditation for Supporting Employees

Mars Petcare, a global leader in pet nutrition, has been recognized for fostering a supportive work environment for employees experiencing menopause. The company, which produces popular pet brands like Royal Canin and PEDIGREE, has received the Menopause Friendly Accreditation in the UK. This follows their previous accolades, including being named the UK's most family friendly company and featuring in TIME's World's Best Companies.

Nick Foster, general manager of Mars Pet Nutrition UK, Ireland and Nordics, emphasizes the importance of creating an inclusive culture. He believes this boosts employee engagement, retention, and overall performance. Deborah Garlick, CEO of Menopause Friendly by Henpicked, echoes this, stressing the need to support employees going through menopause to prevent them from leaving work due to symptoms.

Mars Petcare offers various initiatives to support employees experiencing menopause. These include inclusive uniforms, line manager training, menopause champions, and educational materials. The company's Generations Associate Resource Group has played a significant role in driving these changes. Tracy Robinson, people and organization director at Mars UK, Ireland and Nordics, expressed pride in receiving the Menopause Friendly Accreditation, acknowledging the group's impact.

The Menopause Friendly Accreditation recognizes Mars' effectiveness across five areas: culture, policies, training, engagement, and working environment. By prioritizing the well-being of its employees, Mars continues to set a high standard for family-friendly and inclusive workplaces.
