Lola Young Cancels Shows After On-Stage Collapse, Health Issues Cited
British singer Lola Young, known for her hit 'Messy', has cancelled her upcoming concerts due to health issues. The 24-year-old singer collapsed on stage during a performance at the All Things Go festival in New York on Saturday, shocking fans. She later confirmed on Instagram that she was okay, but all her upcoming events, including her planned appearances at Coachella 2024 and Coachella 2025, have been cancelled.
Before her performance on Saturday, Lola Young had hinted at tough days, but her collapse mid-performance was unexpected. Paramedics quickly evacuated her from the stage. In a statement, she expressed disappointment at having to cancel her plans and thanked fans for their support. She apologised to fans who bought tickets and promised a refund, though she did not specify how long her concert dates were cancelled for.
Lola Young has openly spoken about her struggles with schizoaffective disorder, which can cause manic episodes and require hospitalisation. This is not the first time her mental health has affected her performances. She had previously cancelled her appearance at a festival in New Jersey due to 'safety measures' related to her mental health. In addition, Lola Young revealed in an interview that she went to rehab for a cocaine addiction at the end of last year.
Lola Young has cancelled her upcoming concerts in Washington, D.C., and at the 'We Can Survive' festival in Newark, as well as her announced UK tour in October 2023. Fans await updates on her health and rescheduled performances. The singer has asked for privacy during this time.
