Largest Aid Delivery Headed to Ukraine Since Conflict Initiated

In July 2025, Neuss Helps, a humanitarian organisation based in Neuss, Germany, coordinated the largest medical shipment to Ukraine since the commencement of the conflict. This shipment, weighing over 9 tons, was delivered to medical institutions in Vinnytsia and marked a significant contribution to Ukraine's medical infrastructure [1][4].

The aid, which included rehabilitation equipment, essential medical supplies, consumables, furniture, and household cleaning items, was distributed to both state-run and military hospitals. This support aimed to address immediate medical needs and contribute to long-term recovery efforts [1].

United Help Ukraine, UkraineHilfe Düsseldorf, AVP – Akzeptanz, and the Vinnytsia City Council were key partners in this initiative, collaborating closely to organise and support the shipment. The aid was sourced through purchases, partnerships, and in-kind donations from both U.S. and European supporters [1].

The medical aid, donated by the St. Augustinus Group, included a large C-arm X-ray system, modern ultrasound and blood transfusion devices, infusion pumps, incubators, warming beds for newborns, extensive surgical materials, emergency sets, and more [2].

The hospital in Pawlohrad, the only facility in the region providing inpatient care for children and women in labor or post-delivery, was one of the recipients of this aid. This hospital treats civilians and soldiers around the clock in the fields of internal medicine, surgery, and neurology [3]. Serhij Ostrenko, Secretary of the City Council of Pawlohrad, expressed deep respect and sincere gratitude towards the St. Augustinus Group and Neuss Helps for their commitment and professional handling [3].

Max Lennertz, from Neuss Helps, thanked Andreas Degelmann, CEO of the St. Augustinus Group, for the valuable donations and trusting cooperation. Degelmann, in turn, expressed gratitude for the existence of Neuss Helps and stated that they are happy to support it [4]. Frank Paulussen and his team at Neuss Helps were also thanked for their personal commitment [4].

This aid is particularly crucial for areas experiencing active fighting with Russian occupiers. The ongoing support from organisations like Neuss Helps and the St. Augustinus Group is essential in ensuring that Ukraine's healthcare system continues to function during these challenging times.

  1. Other humanitarian organizations could consider following Neuss Helps' example by coordinating shipments of medical equipment, as this aid is crucial for areas experiencing active fighting, especially in the context of overwhelming medical-conditions and war-and-conflicts in Ukraine.
  2. In light of the ongoing political toll on Ukraine and its healthcare system, it's important to recognize the significance of health-and-wellness initiatives such as the support provided by Neuss Helps, the St. Augustinus Group, and their partners to medical institutions in the country.
  3. Beyond the immediate relief efforts, long-term health-and-wellness policies must be considered to improve Ukraine's medical infrastructure, general-news about humanitarian initiatives like this one can serve as an inspiration for similar efforts in the future.
