The union IG Metall Baden-Württemberg has reached a negotiating result in the wage sector of technical building equipment. The agreement, aimed at making training in the industry more attractive, includes several key benefits for employees.
Starting from September 1, 2025, wages in the sector will increase by 2.9 percent. This is a significant boost for workers in the technical building equipment sector. The agreement also extends to training remuneration, ensuring that trainees receive appropriate wages during their vocational training period. In the first year of training, remuneration will increase by 80 euros, followed by an increase of 120 euros in the second year. The third year of training will see a 155 euros increase, and in the fourth year, remuneration will rise by 190 euros.
The agreement also includes paid leave on the working day before Christmas Eve, starting from 2025, and on the working day before New Year's Eve, starting from 2026. Employees will also enjoy paid leave on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, as has been the case in many IG Metall collective agreements.
The agreement sends a strong signal for social security and future prospects in the technical building equipment sector. It is part of a broader effort to improve working conditions and attract more talent to the industry.
Saskia Genthner, the IG Metall BW negotiator, has overseen the agreement. It's important to note that the agreement does not contain any advertisements.
