Kolymchan receives an invitation to participate in the Green Prize, an annual contest for eco-friendly initiatives

The Magadan region is set to host the Green Prize competition from July 1 to November 1, 2025. This competition, organised by the regional government, aims to enhance the image of waste management and circular economy professions, popularise waste management reform, and promote a new environmental culture.

The Green Prize is open to a wide range of participants, including physical and legal entities, cultural, corporate, public, and educational organisations. Participants can choose to enter either the Professional Track or the Public Track.

The Professional Track recognises the best ecological practices from large industrial companies, businesses, regional operators, schools, social entrepreneurs, the agro-industrial complex, technological projects, and digital projects. On the other hand, the Public Track replicates and scales the best public and non-profit projects in the nature conservation industry.

For those interested in the Public Track, applications must be submitted on the Competition website before the deadline of 23:59 on November 1, 2025 (inclusive). This track identifies environmental leaders in society and supports environmental centres as part of the Green Prize competition.

Projects in the Public Track not only raise the overall cultural level of the population but also inspire a responsible attitude towards nature. They aim to replicate successful environmental initiatives and encourage more sustainable practices across the region.

Winners of the Green Prize will be announced at the end of the competition. The Russian Environmental Operator will oversee the competition, ensuring its fairness and integrity.

The Green Prize is more than just an award; it's a platform for celebrating and promoting environmental protection, education, best practices in nature conservation, and ecological leadership. It's a call to action for everyone in the Magadan region to join in the fight for a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future.
