Clean Kazakhstan: A Nationwide Campaign Transforming Environmental Attitudes
Kazakhstan has launched a nationwide ecological campaign called Taza Kazakhstan, or "Clean Kazakhstan," with the aim of establishing a new national ideology of nature conservation. The campaign, initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev last year, has made significant progress and impact in environmental protection, waste management, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability.
The campaign has seen massive public participation, with over 9 million people joining its efforts across the country. This extensive citizen engagement is reflected in the organization of more than 900 clean-up events and the planting of approximately 2.5 million trees to restore and protect natural landscapes.
Deputy Minister Mansur Oshurbayev confirms that the ecological campaign is having a profound impact on public attitudes.
