Individual in his thirties finds himself in critical health status following rescue from waters off Waikiki beach
A man in his 30s was pulled unconscious from the ocean off Waikiki on Sunday, according to Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The incident occurred near Kalia Road in Waikiki.
Upon arrival, EMS found the man receiving CPR from good Samaritans. They continued advanced, life-saving measures on the man. The man was then taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The specific age of the man was not previously mentioned, but the new information states he is estimated to be in his 30s.
This incident comes amidst recent tsunami warnings and strong ocean activity around Hawaii due to a major earthquake near Kamchatka in late July 2025, which affected the Pacific region including Hawaii.
Despite the ongoing investigations, there are no recent, detailed updates specifically about the man's current condition in the available search results. However, a video from August 6, 2025, on Instagram shows Honolulu Ocean Safety lifeguards performing compressions on an unconscious person pulled from the ocean, demonstrating their skill and confidence in a rescue situation. No further follow-up on the individual's outcome is provided.
We will continue to monitor the situation and update this article as more information becomes available. Our thoughts are with the man and his family during this difficult time.
