In the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia, a new honorary title has been introduced to recognise the significant contributions of residents who regularly donate blood, its components, or plasma. The title, known as the "Meritorious Donor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region," serves as an incentive for individuals to donate and reinforces the idea that blood donation is a valuable and commendable act.

To be eligible for the honorary title, residents must have donated blood, its components, or plasma at least 80 to 120 times without compensation. Currently, 64 individuals in the region have reached this threshold, with approximately 100 more close to achieving it. The honorary title will be awarded annually to no more than 40 residents.

The honorary title is a regional award, and the news about it has been reported by Alexei Nikonov, the main editor of MIA "Station-press." This title is not only a recognition of individual efforts but also highlights the importance of blood donation in the region.

The donations made for this honorary title do not exclude plasma or blood components. This means that individuals who donate plasma or blood components can also qualify for the honorary title. The donations must be made without compensation, ensuring that the recipients are truly selfless individuals.

The honorary title recognises significant contributions to the health of regional residents through blood donations. By encouraging more people to donate, the region aims to ensure a steady supply of blood for those in need, reinforcing the importance of this act.

The honorary title continues to be reported by Alexei Nikonov, the main editor of MIA "Station-press," and it continues to highlight the importance of blood donation in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
