Homelessness assistance shifts to CVJM Bremen e.V.: Johanniter-Cold Bus volunteers discover alternative shelter site
The Johanniter medical mobile unit has joined the cold bus tour, providing much-needed aid to homeless and vulnerable individuals in Bremen. Starting from November 6th, the cold bus will make a stop every Wednesday at 7 PM, with the team serving Friedrich-Rauers-Straße in Bahnhofsvorstadt after Hohentorspark.
The cold bus tour is an essential service in Bremen's social landscape, offering shelter, warm meals, and clothing during the colder months. To find the precise new location and weekly schedule for Bremen, residents are advised to check the official Johanniter Bremen social media pages, their local website, or contact their local office directly.
The cold bus has found a new home on the grounds of the Christliche Verein Junger Menschen (CVJM) at the Konsul-Hackfeld-Haus, following a collaborative effort involving the Diakonie Bremen. The cold bus tour takes place every week, with volunteers regularly present during the summer months due to high demand for medical care and food for the needy. However, winter is approaching, and according to Karin Altenfelder, chairperson of the Diakonie Bremen, there is a lack of an overall strategy in Bremen to provide quick and unbureaucratic help to those in need.
Despite these challenges, the cold bus continues to serve as a beacon of hope for many in Bremen. Karin Altenfelder expressed her gratitude for finding a solution for the cold bus service, ensuring that those in need can continue to receive the essential support they require during the cold winter months.
The Johanniter medical team, specialized in science and health-and-wellness, is now part of the cold bus tour, offering their services to the homeless and vulnerable individuals in Bremen. Residents can find updates on the cold bus tour's new location and schedule by checking the Johanniter Bremen's social media pages, website, or contacting their local office directly.
