Hesse Honors Innovative Community Projects Securing Local Supply and Engagement

Several innovative projects across Hesse have been recognised for their contributions to community development and sustainability. The 'Home with a Future - Ideas for Hesse' prize, endowed with 24,000 euros, awarded three initiatives for their exceptional work in securing local supply, mobility, and community engagement.

The Ginseldorf Village Shop in Marburg-Ginseldorf took the 2nd prize for its voluntary management since 2005, ensuring local supply and fostering community spirit. Meanwhile, the Breitscheid Health Center, also a 2nd prize winner, united medical, therapeutic, and nursing care under one roof, creating local jobs and attracting further service providers. It houses a hairdresser, an optician, a bakery, and two banks, making it a hub for the community.

The Sinn Forest Swimming Pool in Sinn was recognised for its voluntary operation by a support association for over 15 years. It provides leisure and relaxation facilities for all generations, earning it the 2nd prize. In Gelnhausen, the 'Makerspace' offers young people free access to digital technologies like robotics and 3D printers, inspiring them for future technologies. The third prize went to dasgute.haus in Butzbach for its participatory work and talent exchange concept, fostering active community engagement across generations and backgrounds.

These initiatives demonstrate the power of community involvement and innovative thinking in shaping a sustainable future. They have not only secured local supply and mobility but also fostered community engagement and inspired future generations. The Hessian Demography Prize 2025, with a total endowment of 24,000 euros, has recognised and rewarded these outstanding contributions to Hessian society.
