Health Minister Trump Disbands Entire Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices - Health Secretary under Trump dismisses entire advisory panel on vaccines
Grab your popcorn, folks, because things are heating up! Robert F. Kennedy Jr., our health guru, has given the finger to every member of a vaccine advisory panel (ACIP) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This juicy tidbit dropped on Monday from the US Department of Health. "The public needs to know that our health gurus' recommendations are as solid as a rock, based on science that's been vetted in public and sans any sketchy conflicts," Kennedy reportedly said in the department's statement. He's recalled all 17 members of the advisory committee on immunization practices and is now scouring for replacements to fill the void.
Trump's Health Czar Talks Smack on Previous Vaccine Squad
Kennedy claims the panel was a hotbed of sketchy deals and never said no to a vaccine. He also swears the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) makes the final call on vaccine approvals. The panel elite advises the CDC on who'd benefit most from an already approved vaccine and when they should roll up their sleeves. "This is a bummer," said Jesse Goodman, former FDA chief scientist. "These are some top-notch medical brains we're talking about. This kind of political shenanigans weakens trust instead of beefing it up."
Kennedy, who's been questioning the safety and efficacy of vaccines for years and spinning tales against the grain of scientific evidence, claims most panel members take cash from Big Pharma. However, ACIP members are obligated to disclose any potential or perceived conflicts of interest, as well as any relevant business interests, leadership positions, or connections to organizations.
Old news: Kennedy once wowed the legal world. Then he started peddling conspiracy theories, including the debunked idea that childhood vaccines cause autism. In April, he greenlit an investigation on that very topic. Lucky us!
