Health Centre Vhi 360 establishes in Galway, broadening the reach of Vhi health services in the region.
In a significant development for the healthcare sector in the West of Ireland, Vhi has opened a new 360 Health Centre in Galway. This milestone marks an expansion of Vhi's nationwide network and brings the company's connected model of healthcare to the region for the first time.
The new facility, located in Galway, serves as a hub for Vhi's Hospital@Home, a referral-only service that delivers expert care directly to members in their homes. This initiative aims to facilitate continuity of care and reduce the need for hospital visits.
Anne O'Connor, Managing Director of Vhi Health and Wellbeing, expressed her delight, stating, "The opening of the Galway centre marks an important milestone for Vhi and its members in the West of Ireland." She further added, "This centre reflects Vhi's ongoing commitment to helping its members live longer, stronger, and healthier lives."
The Galway centre offers a range of services and benefits aimed at supporting the comprehensive health and wellbeing of Vhi members. The Urgent Care Clinic, a six-bay unit, provides fast, walk-in access for the treatment of minor injuries, wounds, orthopaedic injuries, and illnesses. It operates 365 days a year from 10 am to 7 pm, with no appointment needed. Patients are aimed to be assessed and discharged within 90 minutes, and follow-up care with orthopaedic consultants or wound care nurses is available on-site if required.
Members can also access specialist services such as paediatrics and women’s health services integrated within the centre's offerings. These specialist services complement the urgent care provision and support broader health needs. The centre also acts as a hub for Vhi’s Hospital@Home programme, a referral-only service where expert nurses and doctors deliver care directly in members' homes.
Moreover, the centre provides medical screenings that support early detection of health conditions, enhancing proactive health management for members. By combining these services under one roof, the Vhi 360 Health Centre embodies Vhi’s 360 model of care, which focuses on a holistic and integrated system of clinical services delivered by a multidisciplinary team.
