Global Women's Forum gathers female speakers from various nations in Ekaterinburg
Forty Experts Across 21 Countries Set to Discuss Women's Empowerment at International Forum
Experts hailing from Belarus, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Sri Lanka are among the participants set to attend the plenary session of the III International Women's Forum, themed "Women's Power of Creation." A total of 40 experts are expected to attend the event, according to the information policy department of the Sverdlovsk region.
Vyacheslav Yarin, the regional minister for international and external economic relations, announced that representatives from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Egypt, India, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tajikistan, and other European countries will participate. A business contacts fair is also scheduled as part of the forum, with delegates from not only the Sverdlovsk region but also Azerbaijan, Belarus, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan taking part.
Topics slated for discussion include women's rights and the challenges facing the global women's community. Kyrgyzstan's Ombudswoman, Djamila Jamalbayeva, is expected to address efforts to enhance national legislation in the field of women's rights protection and equality, especially in entrepreneurship.
Hoda Galal Yassa, the President of the Arab Women Investors Union and a member of Egypt's Council on Foreign Relations, is set to discuss the role of women investors in implementing projects in the Middle East. Ambassador Sobhini Gunasekera of Sri Lanka will present a report on expanding political and economic rights for women in her country. Elena Bogdan, a deputy state secretary and member of the Belarusian Women's Union, is expected to speak about the experience of the Union State in increasing women's participation in political and social life as well as in decision-making processes.
Irina Chemezova, the project's leader, emphasized the persistent global presence of gender stereotypes and limitations affecting women's opportunities. She highlighted the importance of discussing successful women across various fields, such as politics, public service, economics, business, and entrepreneurship.
Set to take place from May 30 to June 1 at the "Ekaterinburg-EXPO" congress center, the event will feature more than 20 thematic sessions focusing on demographic development, interaction with business communities, and initiatives to improve the quality of life. Issues ranging from family and maternity support to the development of women's leadership and social infrastructure in the regions will be under the spotlight.
Previously, "Obskaya Gazeta" reported that over 5,400 participants have registered for the International Women's Forum in Yekaterinburg. It is to be noted that Ambassador Shobini Gunasekera has spoken at the XV Eurasian Youth Economic Forum in Yekaterinburg, indicating the potential for similar events in the region to feature notable figures from diplomatic and economic spheres.
- Discussions at the III International Women's Forum will also cover the intersection of science and health-and-wellness within women's health, as Elena Bogdan, a deputy state secretary and member of the Belarusian Women's Union, is expected to speak about the importance of promoting women's participation in STEM fields and addressing health issues that disproportionately affect women.
- Hoda Galal Yassa, the President of the Arab Women Investors Union and a member of Egypt's Council on Foreign Relations, will not only discuss the role of women investors in implementing projects in the Middle East but is also expected to touch upon health-and-wellness and womens-health initiatives, such as promoting access to healthcare services and supporting research aimed at improving the overall well-being of women in the region.
