Garmin's latest timepiece incorporates functionality comparable to Oura and Whoop, long-awaited features in the industry.

Garmin has unveiled a new feature called Lifestyle Logging, which is now available with the release of their latest smartwatch, the Venu 4. This personal on-wrist fitness and wellness coach aims to turn random numbers into actionable insights for users.

The Lifestyle Logging feature allows users to track various daily behaviours such as caffeine consumption, alcohol intake, sunlight exposure, naps, cold plunges, and more. It's designed to provide a "bigger picture" of a user's health and what might be affecting their energy levels, fitness performance, sleep, or general recovery.

One of the key benefits of Lifestyle Logging is its ability to plot how these behaviours affect sleep, stress, and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) over time. This data can help users understand how their daily habits impact their overall wellbeing.

Users can log entries right from their wrist with the Venu 4, making it easier and more convenient than ever to keep track of their daily activities. Lifestyle Logging is also available for existing Garmin watch users via the Connect app.

To access Lifestyle Logging, simply update the Garmin Connect app and look for it on the home screen or under Health Stats. Users can add Lifestyle Logging as a home tile for easy access and enable morning/evening reminders to ensure consistency.

The effectiveness of Lifestyle Logging depends on user consistency. By regularly logging their daily activities, users can gain a better understanding of their habits and make informed decisions to improve their health.

After building up a few weeks of entries, users can see 4- and 12-week trends that highlight what helps and what hinders their health. This feature is free and does not require a subscription.

The Venu 4 and Lifestyle Logging are Garmin's latest attempts to help users take control of their health and fitness. With its on-watch glance feature, Lifestyle Logging is easier to use than ever before, making it an essential tool for anyone looking to improve their overall wellbeing.

The Venu 4 will be available for sale from 22 September. Whether you're a seasoned Garmin user or new to the brand, the Lifestyle Logging feature is a great reason to consider adding the Venu 4 to your collection.
