Evolution of Our Platform's Direction
In a significant move, Cosmos Magazine, a renowned source of science news and information, has announced that it will be ceasing its print edition in June 2025. However, the organisation has assured its readers that its commitment to making the world of science accessible to everyone will continue, albeit in a digital format.
The decision to transition from print to digital reflects a wider trend in the media industry, with audiences increasingly moving away from print magazines. The rising costs of producing print magazines have also played a role in this decision.
From June 2025, Cosmos Magazine will focus on digital publication and content delivery. This shift will see the Cosmos online news service transition to a new digital destination for science content later in the year. This new platform will publish peer-reviewed journals, e-books, and fact-based science news, aiming to bring together audiences for a sustainable future.
All subscribers will be refunded their remaining subscription term. For subscriptions purchased through the Royal Institution of Australia before June 2024, refunds can be organised by contacting [email protected] or by calling 1300 788000. For subscriptions purchased via an agent, refunds will be organised following their standard processes. For school or library subscriptions paid via EFT or invoice, refunds will be organised separately.
The new digital destination will also employ a news team to continue publishing stories about the latest science discoveries and interviews with scientists. The original article announcing this change was published by Cosmos under the title "A new future for our platform."

This transition marks an exciting new chapter for Cosmos Magazine, as it continues to inspire curiosity and provide scientific information to its readers, now in a more accessible and sustainable digital format.
In the new digital format, Cosmos Magazine will aim to publish a variety of scientific content, encompassing peer-reviewed journals, e-books, and health-and-wellness articles, emphasizing sustainability for a better future. The organization will continue its mission of making the world of science accessible, now digital and more accessible to its audience.
