Enhanced Medical Facility for Women Opens at Lattimore, Boosting Healthcare Availability
The Women's Health Center at Lattimore, located at 125 Lattimore Road, has undergone a significant expansion and relocation, aiming to provide comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services to the community.
The center, now named the Women's Health Center at Lattimore, offers a wide range of services. These include general Ob/Gynecology services, such as family planning, urogynecology, chronic pelvic pain care, obstetrical care for high- and low-risk pregnancy, and outpatient procedures. The center also caters to high-risk obstetric patients at its Special Care Clinic.
Laboratory support is available for blood and urine testing, and genetic counseling is offered for pre-pregnancy evaluation and for pregnancy-related ultrasound abnormalities or abnormal results from genetic assessment during pregnancy.
Ancillary services such as social work, nutrition, financial case management, and behavioral health are also provided.
The center has the capacity to accommodate 30,000 visits per year, an increase from the previous location's capacity of 23,000 patients annually. This expansion was primarily due to the need for more space to expand the program and provide dedicated space for services such as social work and nutritional support.
The Women's Health Center at Lattimore is a community-based setting, close to the hospital and offering easy access for patients. The center aims to improve health outcomes and reduce disparities for women who find it challenging to attend appointments at the hospital.
