Emergency Workers Active and Functioning
Dormagen, Germany - Latest Addition to Emergency Services
The city of Dormagen has welcomed a new ambulance into its emergency services. The vehicle, a Mercedes Sprinter, is equipped with a 140 KW engine to ensure swift response times. During a ceremony attended by Mayor Erik Lierenfeld, Fire Department Chief Bernd Eckhardt, and Head of Rescue Service Achim Mittnacht, the benefits of the new ambulance were highlighted.
Unlike traditional models, the new vehicle features an electrohydraulic stretcher that significantly reduces the physical effort required by rescue workers. The stretcher can be electrically raised and lowered and easily maneuvered into the ambulance, allowing for increasedcomfort and reduced stress for patients. This design is expected to minimize injuries to shoulder and knee joints, as well as potential stress on the spine.
A standout feature of the vehicle is its direct communication capability with a "tele-notarzt." This service offers remote medical advice until an on-site doctor arrives, although the equipment for this function is not yet activated.
The new ambulance is adorned with the city's coat of arms, featuring the Julich lion, making it easily identifiable at a distance. The cost of the new vehicle amounts to €310,000. Next year, two more ambulances of the same type are planned for purchase.
Reflecting the broader market, the new Mercedes Sprinter ambulance is equipped with advanced cabinetry, electrical systems, security features, emergency lighting, and a modern medic workspace, all designed to promote ease of use, safety, and improved patient care. These features contribute to the ambulance's reputation for reliability, versatility, and customizability to meet local operational requirements.
The new Mercedes Sprinter ambulance, serving Dormagen's emergency services, is not only designed for swift response times but also emphasizes health-and-wellness, with an electrohydraulic stretcher reducing physical strain on medical-conditions patients. Furthermore, its direct communication capability with a "tele-notarzt" ensures timely science-backed medical advice during emergencies.
