EBRD and Endeavor Romania initiate Women on Boards program, providing support for female entrepreneurs in boardroom positions.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Endeavor Romania have officially launched the first regional edition of the EBRD Women on Boards program, designed to bolster the careers of female leaders in various sectors across central, eastern, and south-eastern Europe.

Scheduled for June 10, this program aims to support corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, startup founders, and other women ready to escalate their careers, providing them with valuable skills to confidently venture into boardroom positions.

Registration for the program, which is free of charge, is mandatory by June 1. Due to limited in-person capacity, interested participants are encouraged to sign up promptly.

Relevant insights into artificial intelligence's transformative impact on industries and its pertinence to board members will be featured, along with a board simulation exercise mimicking real-world decision-making dynamics.

The program's central theme emphasizes the advantages of regional collaboration, as the representation of women on boards in the target regions is yet to reach its full potential, notwithstanding consistent improvement.

Victoria Zinchuk, EBRD Director for Romania, expressed her conviction in the importance of such initiatives, stating, "Programs like EBRD Women on Boards create new opportunities for female leadership and serve to foster a corporate culture that's more inclusive. They pave the way for progress in gender equality at the highest decision-making levels. Furthermore, this year's program offers participants a regional perspective that encourages cross-border planning and networking among women leaders in the region."

The program is funded by the EBRD's Small Business Impact Fund, with contributions from Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Luxembourg, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, the United States of America, and the TaiwanBusiness-EBRD Technical Cooperation Fund. Key partners in Romania include Banca Transilvania and PWN Romania.

This regional initiative underscores the program's dedication to empowering women to achieve greater influence at the highest echelons of corporate decision-making.
