Crew members numbering over 100 become ill on the set of Ranveer Singh's film, Dhurandhar.

In the heart of the picturesque Ladakh region, the set of Ranveer Singh's highly anticipated film, "Dhurandhar", has faced an unexpected challenge. Approximately 120 crew members working on the film reportedly fell ill due to suspected food poisoning on August 17, 2025.

The affected individuals displayed symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, vomiting, dehydration, and headaches, and were admitted to Sajal Narbbu Memorial Hospital (SNM Hospital) in Leh, where most have since recovered. A few remain under observation, but thankfully, no casualties were reported.

The food served on the set is believed to be the source of the contamination, and food samples have been collected for examination. The results are still pending to confirm the exact cause.

The incident has brought to light the challenges associated with food safety and large-scale production management, particularly in remote, high-altitude locations like Ladakh.

Following the incident, the shoot has been temporarily halted, with plans to resume once the health situation stabilises and investigations conclude. No exact date for resumption has been announced yet.

Ranveer Singh and the lead actors were not affected by the food poisoning. The film, which revolves around themes of trust, bravery, and wars fought away from public view, is set for a global theatrical release on December 5, 2025.

"Dhurandhar" marks Ranveer Singh's first collaboration with Aditya Dhar, and the duo are already planning another project after the actor completes Don 3. The film's star-studded cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, and Ranveer Singh's portrayal in "Dhurandhar" could be one of his fiercest personas yet.

This news comes as a setback for the film industry, but the production team has assured that safety measures will be reinforced before shooting resumes. The incident has sparked conversations about on-set food safety, highlighting the importance of maintaining high standards in remote locations.
