On September 27, 2025, the Dr. Becker Rhein-Sieg-Klinik in Nümbrecht, Germany, will host the 21st Osteoporosis Day, a specialist event aimed at medical professionals, affected individuals, and interested laypeople. This year's event, titled "Osteology Update 2025," is in cooperation with REKO Rhineland and the Orthopedic Society for Osteology (OGO).

The conference promises to be an engaging gathering, featuring presentations and discussions on the latest trends and developments in osteoporosis treatment. Approximately six to eight million people in Germany have osteoporosis, making it a pressing health concern. Older people, especially women, are particularly affected by this chronic bone disease that increases the risk of fractures.

Notable speakers at the event include B. Saruhan, who will discuss the role of Vitamin K2 in osteological basic therapy, and U. Deuß, who will talk about New data on Denosumab and osteological comorbidities. M. Bode will lead interactive osteological case discussions and present the S3 guideline "Physical Training for Fracture Prevention."

Other speakers will delve into the latest pharmacological treatments, refinements in antiresorptive therapy, personalized medicine approaches, adjunctive non-pharmacological measures, and new guidelines and consensus updates. For instance, K. M. Peters will give presentations on the osteological network Oberberg/Siegerland and the S3 guideline for physical training and fracture prevention.

T. Seppel will discuss osteoanabolic therapy of osteoporosis and the DVO Guideline 2023, while R. Fritzen will present on Romosozumab, Abaloparatide, and the development of bone density & cardiac risks.

The event has been applied for certification at the North Rhine Medical Association and recognized by the German Osteology Association (DVO) with two points for re-certification. Participation in the event is free, and catering will be provided. Registration for the event is required by September 10, 2025.

Last year, over 200 interested guests set a participant record for the clinic. The Dr. Becker Rhein-Sieg Clinic, which specializes in rehabilitation measures in the fields of neurology, orthopedics, and osteology, employs approximately 350 staff and treats around 3,900 rehabilitation patients per year.

For more precise details from the Osteology Update 2025 conference, we recommend contacting the Dr. Becker Rhein-Sieg-Klinik directly or checking if they have published abstracts, summaries, or proceedings from the event. This will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information presented by experts at that meeting.

  1. In addition to the latest trends in osteoporosis treatment, the 21st Osteoporosis Day will also explore chronic medical conditions and chronic diseases, specifically focusing on chronic kidney disease, which can be a comorbidity associated with osteoporosis.
  2. During the interactive case discussions, M. Bode will not only present the S3 guideline for physical training and fracture prevention but will also likely touch upon health and wellness strategies for managing chronic diseases like osteoporosis and chronic kidney disease.
  3. Apart from the focus on osteoporosis, speakers such as T. Seppel and R. Fritzen will also delve into up-to-date medical-condition information, discussing osteoanabolic therapy of osteoporosis and its implications on bone density, cardiac risks, and potential comorbidities.
