Christina Applegate, the beloved actress known for her roles in shows like "Married... with Children" and "Anchorman," has been open about her diagnosis with multiple sclerosis (MS) and the impact it has had on her family life.

In a recent episode of Kelly Ripa's podcast "Let's Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa," Applegate shared personal insights into the challenges and adjustments she and her family have faced since her diagnosis. The conversation underscored resilience, the power of open communication, and the vital role of family support in navigating life with MS.

Applegate, who was diagnosed with MS in 2021, described how the chronic condition that affects the central nervous system brought new dynamics to her daily routines and family interactions. She emphasized the importance of a strong support system, noting how her family has rallied around her with love and understanding.

One of the most poignant moments in the conversation came when Applegate recalled a conversation with her daughter, Sadie. Hearing her daughter express her feelings about the diagnosis felt like "a knife to the heart." Sadie, who was born in January 2011, was not always ready to accept help from others, such as when her mother needed a wheelchair.

Despite her daughter's harsh words, Applegate emphasized that Sadie is the reason she's still fighting. Sadie, too, has had to adjust to her mother's new reality. She finds it hard to see her mother going through MS, but she has also found it "nice" to be able to support her in different ways.

Sadie, now 14, remembers dancing with her mother for hours every night when she was a kid. Now, they find joy in smaller moments, like spending quality time together and supporting each other through the challenges of MS.

Applegate and her daughter's emotional conversation was also featured on another podcast, "MeSsy," which she co-hosts with actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler. In an episode of "MeSsy," Sadie spoke about her feelings, expressing her sadness at missing the person her mother was before she got sick.

Despite the difficulties, Applegate remains hopeful and grateful for her family's support. She misses the person she was before she got sick every day of her life, but she finds strength in her family and the small moments they share.

Applegate's husband, Martyn LeNoble, is the father of Sadie. The family continues to navigate life with MS, finding strength in their resilience and their love for each other.
