Canada issues recall of baby high chairs due to potential entrapment hazard

Health Canada has issued a nationwide safety alert for the bblüv Groew Convertible Baby Highchair, warning of an entrapment risk for children. Due to a potential hazard, the government agency is recalling the product.

As of May 14, the company has reported one case of entrapment in the chair, although no injuries were sustained during the incident. The affected product was sold in grey and bears the model number B0179, lot number BBL398, and UPC code 842084000466.

Health Canada urges owners of the recalled product to stop using it immediately and contact bblüv Inc. for a replacement part. A total of 822 units were sold in Canada between March 2023 and May 2025.

The agency warns that under certain conditions, children could become trapped in the high chair, posing a potential risk of injury or distress. The recall aims to prevent such incidents and emphasizes the importance of examining baby product safety to ensure the safety of children using these items.
