When regular emergency services like 112 (fire) and 110 (police) become inaccessible nationwide, DL0DUS offers an alternative. In emergencies, posts could be established at critical locations such as schools. People in need could then approach these posts, sending information to the fire department's control center through the club station. In a fascinating twist, DL0DUS can even send emails worldwide via shortwave without a reliable internet connection.

Peter Kern emphasizes, "We dedicate numerous hours to preparing for emergencies. Yet, we never neglect our passion for amateur radio." Unfortunately, they face a considerable challenge—a lack of like-minded enthusiasts. "Many people are oblivious to amateur radio due to faster communication methods," they lament.
