Acid Assault Caught on Film: Delhi Schoolgirl Victimized

In a shocking incident that has left the nation in disbelief, a 17-year-old girl was targeted in an acid attack in Dwarka, southwest Delhi. The attack, which occurred in broad daylight, has sparked outrage and calls for action from authorities and citizens alike.

According to reports, the girl was walking with two women when a bike approached them. One of the riders threw a liquid compound from a glass, causing severe burns to the girl's face. The visuals captured by a CCTV camera in the area show the girl holding her face and running, clearly in severe pain.

The girl has been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital and has suffered 8% burns. Fortunately, her condition is currently stable. The depth of the burns will be known between 48-72 hours after the injury.

The police have detained one suspect in the acid attack, and the girl has identified two suspects. Several teams have been formed to track down the remaining suspect.

Delhi Women's panel chief Swati Maliwal has expressed concern over the incident. Maliwal stated that acid is sold as easily as vegetables and criticized the government for not banning its retail sale. She tweeted, "2 thugs toss acid at a school girl in broad daylight in the nation's capital. Does anyone still fear the law? Why can't the sale of acid be outlawed? Pity."

Maliwal questioned why the sale of acid is not restricted to prevent such attacks. She said the Delhi Women's panel has been demanding this ban for several years. The girl's father reported that the chemical splashed on her face and entered her eyes.

The incident has sparked a wave of outrage and calls for action. Maliwal asked, "When will governments awaken?" No government has yet tried to ban the sale of acid specifically to prevent such horrific crimes.

The girl's father stated that she had not complained about harassment by anyone. The police are searching for the other suspect involved in the acid attack. This incident serves as a grim reminder of the need for stricter regulations and harsher penalties for such heinous crimes.
